I'm looking for a motherboard for an Advent 5421 Laptop. However, I can't find out what the motherboard model number is!! Does anybody know what it is?? Thanks.

Hi, panic over, turns out that the advent 9115 uses exactly the same motherboard. I managed to find one of thoes without much hassle

I'm after a cheap keyboard for an advent 5421, I don't suppose by any chance you didn't find a motherboard for that laptop happen to have one now?

Sorry to interject. If it is the case that you hve a broken laptop, Im happy to buy it for £20 even without the keyboard

After discovering the 9115 was the same motherboard as mine (that was the hardest part!) I literally just had a quick search on ebay of all places. You can often go to the manufacturer for laptop motherboards but they are usually very expensive £200 plus! or they insist that they cannot just sell you the motherboard but must also do the work themselves! more expensive than a proper laptop repair shop! I paid about £80 for the board and got Computer Technology Ltd http://www.computer-technology.co.uk to fit it (cost just under £40), not bad. Hope that helps! Good luck!
